Why We Sell Packages

Healthcare doesn’t happen in single visits. Neither should the transportation.

Chemo runs in cycles. Post-op recovery spans weeks of therapy. Behavioral health appointments need routine. The transportation should be planned the same way — as a series, not a scramble.

Our prepaid packages lock in the rate, secure your pickup windows, and let families coordinate a loved one’s entire care cycle in one conversation. No re-booking. No surprise pricing. No scrambling between appointments.

Service Area & Mileage

Your package rate covers pickup and drop-off anywhere within 10 miles of our Baltimore-area base. Any destination beyond that 10-mile radius adds a flat $35 fuel surcharge, plus a per-mile charge for each mile past 10 — counted in both directions, to the appointment and back. (For example, a destination 11 miles out is charged the $35 surcharge plus the additional mile each way.) Your exact mileage is itemized on your invoice and confirmed before you book.

What’s Included

Every package includes the same standard of care.

Pricing changes with package size. The way we show up doesn’t.

Door-to-door support

We meet your loved one at the door, settle them at the appointment, and walk them back in safely at the end of the day.

Family communication

Pickup confirmations, on-the-way updates, and arrival texts go to the caregiver, not just the patient.

Wheelchair-accessible

Mobility-aware vehicles and trained staff. We secure mobility equipment safely and transfer with patience.

Wait-aware scheduling

Treatment days run long. We build for the wait — not against it. Our team stays with the appointment, not the clock.

Nurse-founded standards

Both founders are Registered Nurses. Patient safety, dignity, and respectful care aren’t add-ons — they’re the baseline.

Recurring scheduling

Treatment cycles, therapy cadences, and behavioral health routines can be scheduled in advance — week by week, or all at once.

Optional Add-Ons

For the days the schedule needs flexing.

Add-ons are rare — most appointments fit cleanly inside the package. When they don’t, here’s what’s available.

Additional wait time

Extended appointment windows beyond what’s built into the standard ride. Useful when chemo, dialysis prep, or therapy intake runs longer than expected.

Available upon request

Additional stop

A pharmacy stop, lab pickup, or grocery run on the way home from an appointment. Note: routine pharmacy stops are already included in oncology and post-op rides.

Available upon request

Priority pickup window

A specific, narrow pickup time (e.g., a precise 9:00–9:15 AM window) when the appointment timing leaves no room to move.

Available upon request

Language support coordination

Bilingual coordination support for non-English-speaking patients or families — arranged in advance, scoped to the appointment.

Available upon request

Each add-on is quoted at the time of booking so families know the total before the ride is confirmed.

How to Choose

Not sure which package fits?

Three simple rules. If the answer isn’t obvious, call — we’ll help you size it right.

1

Expecting 2 round trips or fewer?

Start with A La Carte. No commitment. Pay per trip. Best when you’re still figuring out the schedule or testing the service.

2

3 round trips or a short treatment series?

Choose Core. Locks in the lower per-trip rate. Best for a single chemo cycle, a discharge plus two follow-ups, or a short PT series.

3

Weekly or recurring routine?

Choose Standard or Premium. Weekly behavioral health, therapy cadences (PT/OT 2–3x/week), and full treatment cycles fit cleanly inside these tiers.

Pricing Questions

Common questions about pricing & packages.

Is insurance accepted?

Merit Care Enterprises operates as a private-pay healthcare transportation service. We do not bill insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Pricing is transparent and confirmed before booking.

What does “starting at $140” actually mean?

It’s the per-round-trip rate when you choose one of our prepaid packages (Core, Standard, or Premium). A la carte single round trips are $150. Bundling brings the per-trip cost down to $140 across the entire package.

How does distance and mileage affect my price?

Pickup and drop-off within 10 miles of our Baltimore-area base are covered by your package rate. Any destination beyond 10 miles adds a flat $35 fuel surcharge, plus a per-mile charge for each mile past 10 — counted both to the appointment and back. Your exact mileage is itemized on your invoice and confirmed in your quote before booking.

What’s the difference between wheelchair and ambulatory pricing?

The rates shown reflect the wheelchair tier — for patients using a wheelchair, walker, or needing mobility-equipment support. For ambulatory transportation (patients who can transfer independently), please call 410-537-0079 for current pricing.

Do unused trips in a package expire?

Package terms are confirmed at the time of booking, and we work with families to use the full package across the relevant care cycle. If a treatment plan changes, we discuss options together — refunds, rollovers, or rescheduling. Specifics are reviewed during your quote.

Can I book one trip and decide on a package later?

Yes. Many families start with A La Carte, see how the service fits, and then move to a package for the rest of the care cycle. There’s no pressure to commit upfront.

How are add-ons priced?

Add-ons (additional wait time, additional stops, priority windows, language support) are quoted at the time of booking based on the appointment details. They’re rare — most rides fit cleanly inside the package — but when they apply, you’ll see the total before confirming.

Can a family member or care coordinator book on behalf of someone else?

Yes. Many of our packages are booked by adult children, spouses, caregivers, or case managers coordinating for a loved one. We keep that person in the communication loop throughout the entire package.
