About Merit Care Enterprises  ·  Baltimore, MD

Built by two nurses who knew the ride could be done better.

Meshach and Rita Aneke are both Registered Nurses. They spent years inside the healthcare system — alongside families navigating treatment, recovery, and behavioral health appointments — and they watched the transportation piece break down again and again.

Merit Care Enterprises was built to close that gap, with healthcare-informed transportation that respects the patient, supports the family, and treats the ride as part of the care plan.

Meet the Founders

Founded by nurses who understand what’s at stake.

Merit Care Enterprises is led by Meshach and Rita Aneke — a husband-and-wife team with healthcare experience rooted in nursing, patient safety, behavioral health awareness, and hands-on care across the Baltimore area.

Meshach is a Registered Nurse whose background spans care for veterans, hospital intermediate care, and behavioral health settings — with a deep understanding of patient safety and complex support needs.

Rita is a Registered Nurse with hospital experience that includes serving as a patient companion — providing constant observation and support for vulnerable patients, including those who were confused, disoriented, or at risk.

Together, their healthcare background shapes how Merit Care approaches transportation: with patience, respect, clear communication, and attention to the details families worry about most.

Why Merit Care Exists

It started at the discharge bay.

As nurses, Meshach and Rita watched the same scene play out, week after week. Patients who had just finished treatment or were ready to go home — sitting at the hospital discharge bay for hours. Tired. Sore. Sometimes confused. Waiting for a ride.

And when the ride finally arrived, the day didn’t end. Patients were dropped at the curb of their own homes, no help to the door, no one checking that they made it inside safely. The transportation piece of the care plan had collapsed — and nobody seemed to be treating it like part of the care.

So they built one that did. Merit Care Enterprises was designed from the inside of the healthcare system out, by two nurses who refused to treat the ride as an afterthought.

A Message from Meshach & Rita

We started Merit Care because we’ve seen how stressful it can be when transportation becomes a barrier to care. As Registered Nurses, we understand the importance of getting to therapy, treatment, follow-up appointments, and recovery visits on time and with dignity.

We also understand what families are carrying when they’re coordinating care for someone they love.

Merit Care was built to bring patience, professionalism, and healthcare-informed awareness into the transportation experience — for every patient, every ride, every mile.

What Drives Us

Three things shape every Merit Care ride.

These aren’t marketing words. They’re the operating principles behind how we schedule, communicate, and show up — on every single appointment day.

Healthcare-informed care

Every ride is approached with the awareness only nurses bring. We understand treatment fatigue, mobility limits, post-anesthesia fog, and behavioral health sensitivity — and we let that shape how we work.

Family-centered communication

We keep the caregiver in the loop — not just the patient. Pickup confirmations, on-the-way updates, arrival times, and follow-through go to whoever is coordinating the day, so no family member is left guessing.

Routine-protecting scheduling

Recurring appointments deserve to be protected, not pieced together. Treatment cycles, therapy cadences, and behavioral health visits are built into a predictable schedule that respects the care plan and reduces stress.

Compassion in Motion. Care in Every Mile.

Ready When You Are

Let’s get the next appointment handled.

Share the appointment details, mobility needs, and schedule. We’ll handle getting there — with the patience and respect your family deserves.
